1:24 Green Bridge Car Holden HQ Monaro

On the 5th January 1975, the bulk carrier Lake Illawarra was travelling up the Derwent River when it collided with several pylons of the Tasman Bridge in Hobart. This caused a large section of the bridge deck to collapse.

Two drivers managed to stop their vehicles at the edge, but not before their front wheels had dropped over the lip of the bridge deck. One of these cars contained Frank and Sylvia Manley in their Holden HQ GTS Monaro.

This vehicle, still in its original condition, is currently on show in the Launceston Motoring Museum.

2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of this event.

This model car is perfect for all Holden, HQ Monaro, Australian history & muscle car enthusiasts alike.
