As seen in the famous Australian Movie - Mad Max

Originally styled from a Victorian police car from the era, the yellow Police (interceptor) as it widely became known has been in the top ten most iconic Australian internationally known cars EVER. From its small block 351 through to its Australian built ford 9inch diff. Not only was the car aesthetically pleasing but also served as a ridiculous power plant for the Australian police force. The car was one of the fastest on the road in this era with the biggest available cubic inch motor built in Australia at the time.
In 1973, The XB Falcon was introduced with more aggressive styling, a multifunction control stalk, new colours including colour-coded bumpers on the GT variants, and minor trim variations. Engine options carried over from the XA-series. The GT variant of the XB also included four-wheel disc brakes. The first 211 XB GTs built were fitted with a US-built version of the Cleveland 5.8 litre V8 known as the ‘big port’ engine and later XB GTs were fitted with an Australian built version of the engine with ‘small port’ heads.
