The famous Apollo 11 spaceflight was the program that put man on the Moon for the first time. This momentous occasion occurred on 20 July 1969, which means next year will be the 50th anniversary. The first two American astronauts to set foot on the Moon were Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, after their Eagle lander touched down. They spent nearly a day on the lunar surface before re-joining the Columbia Command Module circling in orbit.
Dragon is celebrating the 2019 anniversary with a special re-release of both 1/48 and 1/72 scale model kits of the spacecraft involved in the Apollo 11 mission. Each plastic kit is beautifully detailed. This is just the first of a series of space race reproductions, with even more exciting items to come celebrating “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”
