The T-54 is a medium tank classified in a traditional way, with a 100mm rifled gun as its main weapon. This series of tanks is the most produced tank in the post war period and so far, and is mainly used to destroy enemy tanks and armuored vehicles.

The T-54 was born in 1949 to replace the T-34 that won the war. But the beginning of the vehicle can be traced back to 1946-1947. The T-55 was named in 1958 after continuous improvement on the T-54. It inherited the appearance and basic performance of the T-54 and was continuously improved and produced until 1981. China (Type 59), Czech Republic and Poland all copied it in large quantities.

Although the T-54/55 had been withdrawn from the Soviet Army's front-line tank divisions and mechanised infantry divisions before the 1980’s due to the successive entry of new tanks such as the T-62, T-64, and T-72, it was the tank that participated in the most actual combat. From the Hungarian incident in 1956 and the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968 to the third and fourth Middle East wars in 1967 and 1973, as well as the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the Bosnian War, etc., they can be seen everywhere.
