In 1943, the "Aris-Chalmers" company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin developed the M4 18-ton high-speed tractor using the T9T9E1 chassis, and continued production until 1945. From March 1943 to June 1945, a total of 5552 M4s were produced, and 259 M4A1s were produced from June to August 1945. A full series of M4 high-speed tractors, M5, M6, etc. have become the main towing tools of the U.S. artillery unit. Each high-speed tractor can carry an artillery squad member and an artillery ammunition base in addition to towing an artillery piece. Guns include: 3-inch (76.2mm) cannon, 90mm anti-aircraft gun.
