The Bell series is a type of mortar made by Nazi Germany during World War II. In June 1937, in order to deal with the French "Maginot Line", the German army ordered Rheinmetall to develop an artillery. This 600 mm caliber mortar is equipped with a 5.108 m long barrel, which is equivalent to 8.44 calibers. The entire self-propelled gun was named "Karl". The first "Karl" was delivered in November 1940 and was named "Adam". The other three were not delivered until May 1941 and were named "Eve", "Doyle" and "Odin". On June 22, 1941, the four heavy artillery pieces were assigned to the 833rd Heavy Artillery Battalion operating in Russia.
