The development of the North American FJ-2 Fury is the result of a request from the US Navy and Marine Corps to provide a version of the F-86 Saber with a long wing. The aircraft from this period still uses a rectilinear construction, which makes them lower than the MiG-15, which is extremely manoeuvrable and highly operational. Production of the Fury began in 1952 with the necessary structural changes to take off and land aircraft carriers. To maximize the space on board the aircraft, folding wings, an elongated nose and a reinforced wheel have been developed. Thanks to its jet engine, the General Electric J47 Fury demonstrated good flight characteristics and a top speed of 1086 km / h. It was armed with 4 Colt Mk 12 guns installed in the bow.
