The Renault 5 Turbo was a special version of the inimitable 5, developed for rally races. With a 1.4 litre inline 4 turbo engine in place of the rear seats the Turbo had a midship setup and was equipped with reinforced 4 wheel independent double wishbone suspension. Its 3 door hatchback body used lightweight aluminium and plastic panels across the board, and with bulging overfenders, integrated bumper air dam skirts and a roof spoiler, its appearance was a significant departure from the original Renault 5. The works car won the first global rally of 1981 and was a familiar sight near the top of timesheets thereafter.

This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit.

Driver and navigator figures are also included.

A realistic depiction of the torsion bar front suspension adds life to the underside of the model.

Slick tyres are solid synthetic rubber.

Decals on the included sheet depict sponsor logos, number, rear windshield lines and more.
