Fairey's Fulmar was a carrier-based fighter that served on British aircraft carriers during World War II. A total of 600 aircraft were built at Fairey's Stockport factory from January 1940 to December 1942. The design of the Fulmar was based on the P.4/34 bomber of 1936. The P.4/34 was used to replace Fairey's early "Fighting" light bomber. Although the performance of the P.4/34 was not the same as that of the previous The "combat" was equally unsatisfactory, but the Fulmar was a reliable, strong aircraft with a long range and equipped with eight machine guns.
