The M1127 Stryker Reconnaissance Vehicle (RV) provides an effective platform for reconnaissance and surveillance operations for reconnaissance teams. The vehicle can carry a six man reconnaissance team and additional personnel, for a total of seven people.

The reconnaissance platoon has developed new tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) that allow them to perform traditional reconnaissance missions using vehicles. The reconnaissance squad arrives near the location where they will be performing their mission. They then move to observation points in armoured Strykers, using trees, bushes, etc. as cover, to mark sensitive areas. After the mission is completed, the scouts return to the Stryker, transmit intelligence back via data link and radio, and then move to their next observation point. Using the target designation system, the Stryker's concealment position is carefully selected and can be quickly evacuated after the reconnaissance team returns.
