The T-100 was a prototype of the Soviet multi-turret heavy tank, developed during 1938-39 to replace the T-35 heavy tank. The T-100 was designed by the OKMO team in Barykov at the Kirov factory under the code 185 in Leningrad. The T-100 was originally envisioned as a three-turret design, but the final vehicle was built with two turrets. It was designed to compete with the SMK heavy tank with a similar multi-turret design. But in the end neither won the bid, and a small tower version was ordered on SMK as the KV-1. All three prototypes were put into the Soma War for testing.
The T-100 tank has two turrets, which are arranged front and rear, so a relatively long chassis is required. The small front turret is armed with a 45mm anti-tank gun, and the rear field of fire is limited due to the presence of the rear turret. The main turret is mounted with a 76.2 mm gun, which has a 360-degree omnidirectional firing field due to its high position on the top of the hull.
